Award-winning Dreambuilder Nine

Dreambuilder Custom Homes is pleased to announce that it won three prizes at the 2011 First Coast Remodelers Awards.  The awards dinner was held earlier this month at Deerwood Country Club.

The First Coast Remodelers Awards are sponsored by the Remodelers Council of the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA), of which Dreambuilder is a member.  This is the first year that Dreambuilder entered the competition.  To participate, a dossier containing plans, specifications and pictures of the ‘before’ and ‘after’ for the project had to be submitted.  Additionally, on-site judging took place at each project, with judges from builders’ associations in Tampa and Orlando.  For each awards category, a winner and a runner-up was selected.

Dreambuilder entered three projects, all of which placed in the competition.  Dreambuilder Nine, our contemporary master bath remodel, won its category.  We also entered two kitchen remodels in two different categories:  Dreambuilder Twelve, our modern kitchen makeover, and Dreambuilder Thirteen, our Intracoastal kitchen renovation — both of which were selected as the runner-up in their respective categories. Dreambuilder Custom Homes announces completion of kitchen remodel, Dreambuilder Twelve

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

Dreambuilder Custom Homes is pleased to announce the completion of Dreambuilder Twelve:  a kitchen remodel for the Mankowski family in Jacksonville, FL.

This mid-century ranch’s kitchen had been remodeled before — about 35 years ago.  The cabinets, while stylish in the ’70s, were out-of-date and old.  Additionally, the kitchen suffered from too many doorways, little cabinet space and no pantry.  Appliances were few and barely functional — including an ancient double oven that was a fire hazard.

Dreambuilder worked with Susan Mankowski to design a contempoary kitchen that solved all of these problems.  By eliminating one entrance to the kitchen, we improved traffic flow and had the room to build a new pantry closet.  Larger 42″ upper cabinets and other features further increased storage capacity and versatility.  Widening the doorway into the dining room opened up the space between the two rooms, creating an updated feel common to today’s floorplans.  (more…)

Dreambuilder Custom Homes announces Dreambuilder Twelve: a new kitchen renovation

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

Dreambuilder Custom Homes is pleased to announce its latest kitchen renovation project:  Dreambuilder Twelve.

Demolition has already taken place, which included donation of the current cabinetry to the Habjax ReStore, in preparation for the electrical and plumbing work.

In addition to new cabinets, granite coutertops and appliances, the home’s 50-year-old electrical system will be brought up to current code, ensuring safety and performance for years to come.

Completion pictures will be available soon.  More information and “before” pictures of the outdated, outmoded kitchen can be viewed in the Dream Home Gallery — scroll down to Dreambuilder Twelve.
