Dreambuilder Custom Homes has contacts with several firms that can help you finance your project. Custom homes (and lot purchases) are typically financed via a ‘construction-permanent’ loan. During the construction process, you make interest-only payments, and only on what has been spent on construction so far. At the end of construction, the loan automatically converts to your permanent mortgage.
Mortgage companies also may offer products specific to renovations and remodeling, in addition to traditional second mortgages or home equity lines of credit.
